Review:
Ill start straight off the cuff. Niccol is one of my favorite writer / director. In fact, one of my favorite movies Gattaca is so under-rated over the years since its release. For me he is a great Sci-Fi writer, so I hope this is in some kualiti.Alas, in time for the true scientific thinker. It depicts a world where time is money. This is not a new idea, but Niccols work pushes the metaphor as a commodity. They are rich with time, those without the time-poor. It's a simple analogy. As with the other films Niccols, cinematography is beautiful. Arent the best actors in the film are the main characters, and Cillian Murphy, Vincent Kartheiser, and (surprisingly) Alex Pettyfer has more interesting characters. All shine, especially Murphy. The film seems like a long chase, if you really want to delve into the complexity of the debate between the characters on the issues of the world they live a sensible conversation going on between everyone. Murphy is a great actor, and I was interested in the debate about right and wrong in a couple of gray thinking place. Life is not black and white. The film ends and I wonder if it was unrealistic to end scheduled Niccol or termination producers would like to stimulate sales. Unfortunately, this movie could have been so much more. She has a good theme. It has some great actors, but it did not work because the story loses the nuances and complexities of the lowest common denominator, rather than asking questions or making the viewer think critically to meet. Look, but be prepared to be disappointed. It is not subtle.
