Description:
Set in the near future, where robot boxing is a top sport, a struggling promoter feels hes found a champion in discarded robot. During his hopes rise to the top, he discovers he has a son of 11 years old who wants to know his father.
Review:
We saw an advanced screening on September 22, I thought it might be another one of those cheesy, campy, not really believable, warm fuzzy, type of underdog / rags to riches movies. I was really surprised. He had some great plot twists, this is a real story. And while yes, there is some language sprinkled throughout, that is, to make a good family movie for older kids 10 + (I think). Completion is not quite what I expected, but looking back I think I liked best about it. Who wants to end they can see coming the entire movie? He had some great moments of comedy. The relationship between the participants felt genuine and not overdone or forced. Robot animatronics was good. The robots themselves are fun and imaginative, and I certainly wish I was really there for the sport. So be there!
